Ruben Boyajian, M.D., becomes a Certified Physician of MD Anderson Cancer Network

(EFFINGHAM, IL) –  HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital announced today that Ruben Boyajian, M.D., has become the sixth physician from their Medical Staff to become a Certified Physician of MD Anderson Cancer Network.  Dr. Boyajian received his official pin during a ceremony in the hospital’s Healing Garden on May 9, 2018.

“Being a certified physician means that Dr. Boyajian has met the rigorous standards set by the network. Specifically, the physician’s education and training and the quality of how each patient is evaluated, staged and treated were all carefully examined,” stated Theresa Rutherford, President and CEO of HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.  “He now joins others on our medical staff who have also committed to elevating the level of cancer care in our community to end cancer.”

Certified physicians within the network have access to a wide range of multidisciplinary care resources, including disease-specific, evidence-based guidelines for cancer diagnosis, staging, treatment and follow-up care. They are able to share in what they’ve learned about all aspects of cancer, including prevention and early detection. Other physicians on St. Anthony’s staff who have been certified include Philip Dy, MD; Casey Duncan, MD; Lisa Kowalski, MD; P.Dharmadev (David) L. Nayak, MD; and Hanna Saba, MD.
