The colleagues, Medical Staff and volunteers welcome you to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. Spending time with us may not be something you planned, but while you are here you are more than our patient — you are our guest.

St. Anthony’s is committed to delivering the highest level of health care possible to our patients. Our approach to health care combines the compassion and human touch of more than a century of caring with the most modern technologies available today.

Intensive Care

Intensive Care provides specialized monitoring and treatment to patients of all ages 24 hours a day. The Intensive Care unit can use a telemetry monitoring unit to measures the capacity of up to 14 patients located elsewhere in the building.

The Intensive Care staff performs admission assessment and screening of patients, and develops a plan of care that addresses the patient's physiological, psychological, social/cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs.

Medical Care

St. Anthony’s Medical Care department treats patients who have a variety of conditions including cardiac, respiratory or infectious conditions, diabetic patients, cancer patients requiring pain management, patients needing end of life care, and any patients who need outpatient services that cannot be accommodated in Same Day Surgery or the Procedure suites.

Medical Care serves a wide range of age groups, from adolescent through geriatric patients, with many patients coming from area nursing homes. The primary diagnoses for patients include pneumonia, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, rehabilitation, gastrointestinal disorders and chest pain.

The Medical Care department also offers many opportunities for student learning. The department currently accepts Lake Land nursing students from both the RN and LPN programs and offers clinical experience to Health Occupation students. Dietary and respiratory therapy students also spend clinical time in the department.

The goal of the Medical Care department is to focus on the age-specific needs of the patient, providing individualized and interdisciplinary care.

Pediatric Care

The Pediatrics Unit provides care 24 hours per day to infants, children and adolescents. Patients are assessed on admission and a plan of care is developed to meet the needs of the patient and family. Other mechanisms to determine patient needs include patient satisfaction surveys and chart reviews. Staffing is adjusted according to volume and acuity. At least one pediatric-trained registered nurse is on duty in-house at all times regardless of volume.
