Mother/Baby Home Care Program
Service Description:
St. Anthony’s wants to provide you with the help and reassurance you need during this special time in your life. That is why St. Anthony’s Home Care agency offers a Mother/Baby Home Care Program as a complimentary extension of your hospital stay -- to help ease any concerns you may have once you have left the hospital.
We hope you will take advantage of this complimentary Mother/Baby Home Care Program which is available in the Clark, Clay, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Marion, Richland, and Shelby counties.
It is free and convenient, and, most importantly, it will give you peace of mind and a healthy start for you and your baby.
Services Provided:
If your doctor issues orders for a visit from our Home Care nurse, you will be contacted within 5 days after discharge. The nurse will call to schedule a convenient time to visit you at home.
During the visit, the nurse will examine you and/or your baby to check for physical condition. She will also review instructions you received during your hospital stay, talk about breast or bottle feeding, provide further advice on care of your newborn, and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. St. Anthony’s also offers three lactation consultants to assist you with breast feeding problems.
